Anti-Virus Software

The Anti-Virus software can be downloaded to be installed on machines off-campus. However you must follow the installation instructions to ensure your machine is fully protected.

Download Installer https://internal.lboro.ac.uk/restricted/cc/AntiVirus/McAfee/
McAfeeVirusScan85.exe

Note: We have standardised on one installer for computers on and off campus, therefore there is no longer a need to update two versions of software.

This software is only suitable for Windows 2000 Professional (or Server), Windows XP or Windows 2003 Server. A CD-ROM containing the software is also available from IT Services Service Desk. Follow the instructions on the README1st.txt file on the CD.

If you require any technical assistance after installation, please view the F.A.Q. www.lboro.ac.uk/it/security/naifaq.html web page for common solutions or contact the IT Service Desk.

The current CD-ROM contains a virus definition file 4591 created on the 28th September 2005. Therefore you must run 'Update Now...' otherwise you are only protected from viruses created before that date. This costs £4. Please note that we only accept I.T.V.s for £25 or over.
