The security of departmental servers is the responsibility of the system managers concerned, and departments should ensure that these individuals have the appropriate skills to provide competent security management. It is strongly recommended the services running on the servers are subject to frequent security auditing and appropriate patches are applied from vendors when released. The links to information on the Operating System Vendor Support page www.lboro.ac.uk/it/security/support.html are provided by to assist this work.
We would like to ask that any security related questions are submitted in the same way as all other requests to IT Services via IT.Services@lboro.ac.uk.
Prevention is better than cure and securing your systems now, will avoid the need to re-install the operating system after your machine has been compromised.
