Minimum Hardware Requirements for Vista
Introduction
IT Services are currently working towards producing a Vista Service similar to the existing XP Staff Desktop Service. People purchasing new machines need to be aware of the minimum hardware requirements for computers that will eventually be used on this new Vista Service. This will help to extend the life of machines currently being purchased.
New Purchases
For new purchases the minimum requirement is:

Intel Core 2 Duo or Pentium Dual-Core Processor.

Hard Drive:

120GB.

Memory:

2GB.

Graphics:
-
Capable of supporting Vista Aero Interface.

Existing Equipment
The minimum requirements for existing equipment are:

Intel Dual Core Processor (e.g. Core Duo, Core 2 Duo) - 1.5 GHz.

This minimum specification will be valid for 3 years and will be reviewed in March 2011.
