Printer Specification
Contact your local IT support staff www.lboro.ac.uk/faculty/fitcs/support.html if you need assistance with deciding what model of printer to buy. If the printer is to be networked, so that it can be shared between staff, you will need to include certain information in the specification.
Printer Purchase
We recommend that you use the Purchasing Office's recommended suppliers www.lboro.ac.uk/service/purchasing/catalog/printers.html to purchase the printer, and ask them to advise on any Loughborough requirements, e.g. for networking purposes.
Network Connection
To have your printer connected to the network you will need a suitably located network connection and a network cable. Contact your local IT support staff www.lboro.ac.uk/faculty/fitcs/support.html to assist with this.
When the printer has arrived, has been unpacked, powered up and tested, you should again contact your local IT support staff www.lboro.ac.uk/faculty/fitcs/support.html to complete the network connection. Adding the Printer to the Desktop
Your local IT support staff should be able to assist with this task if necessary, but many users may feel sufficiently confident to attempt this themselves.
