University I.T. Policies
Acceptable Use Policies are there for your protection. You are strongly advised to read through them in order to avoid any possible misunderstandings in the future.
The Loughborough University Acceptable Use Policy www.lboro.ac.uk/it/policies/loughborough-aup.html applies to all users of the University's computer facilities including the network. There are additional requirements for users of HallNet www.lboro.ac.uk/it/hallnet/shsaup.html, the Student Hall network service.
If you are responsible for administering the IT Acceptable Use Policy, see AUP Procedures at www.lboro.ac.uk/it/policies/aupprocedures.html.
Other University policies apply, e.g. when disposing of computer equipment www.lboro.ac.uk/it/policies/disposal.html.
External I.T. Policies
The University also makes use of the Joint Academic Network (JANET), for example to connect to the Internet, and its Acceptable Use Policy applies to you too www.ja.net/documents/publications/policy/aup.pdf.
The CHEST (Combined Higher Educational Software Team) code of conduct www.eduserv.org.uk/chest/general/conduct/ applies to staff using or installing software.
The Athens terms and conditions www.lboro.ac.uk/it/policies/athens.html applies to some software and databases typically available via the Library.
