Scanners are now installed in labs T.2.10 (Mechanical Engineering), N.3.26 (Haslegrave), N.3.12 (Haslegrave), BE.0.25 (Business School), XX.0.36 (Bridgeman Centre), and SMB (Postgraduate Centre). Instructions for use are located nearby.
These computers have only the software required for scanning and do not have all of the same software as the rest of the lab. Therefore the scanner computer may not be suitable for use during lectures.
Please restart the computer before use, and shut down the computer after use.

The scanners can either scan images or can scan text and import it into a document (Optical Character Recognition). This can also be achieved with the Text Help system www.lboro.ac.uk/it/access/texthelp/index.html, which will also read the text back to you.
The Library also has a Galileo Reading System for those with dyslexia or a visual impairment. The automatic scanner scans a page and analyses it to learn which parts are text and which graphics. After scanning, the text can either be read back immediately, or saved to disk. They also have a Telesensory Chroma Plus camera and viewing table to aid users with limited vision.
